The last few days have been very exciting in the sense that Microsoft announced that development on 2 of its major products was complete and it was released to manufacturing.

What does this mean. If you look back at the last time a new version of Windows came out that was in 2001 when Windows XP hit the streets. And since then Microsoft hasn't released a major version of Windows let alone the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.

So Microsoft has been working on Windows Vista for the last couple of years and it has been a big change to the architecture from a security point of view.

Also Office 2007 has been a big change from its predecessor - Office 2003. So business users can now look to work on the next major version of Office and they will be surprised with the new user interface especially the Ribbon bar.

Office 2007 is available for download to MSDN subscribers. And those of you who are waiting for Windows Vista will have to keep your fingers crossed and wait for the next few days although it wont be that late because the business version is due for launch on November 30th.
